CONTEMPORARY KATLEEN
Katleen is a "cross-over" artist in more than one aspect of her music. Raised by a French father (whose mother was a classical pianist) and an American mother, she was exposed to a wide variety of music, from R&B to the Rolling Stones, from Edith Piaf and Claude Francois to opera.
Katleen enjoys blending musical genres and languages. She has a particular passion for the gospel / R&B sound and soaring vocals. Her rendition of "Listen" won her a national award in 2012 from the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts, Young Arts Achievement Award.
Disney Entertainment Productions recognized Katleen’s “cross-over” talent, hiring her to sing “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” in French, for the Christmas Castle Lighting Ceremony at EuroDisney, nationally televised on ABC’s television special (see clip below).
She fronts regularly for successful local cover bands including Republic of Music, Calphonics, and the MarDels. Katleen also has her own duo “Kat Café” with veteran guitarist Robb Huff and can be seen frequently performing for local news station KUSI Good Morning (more information on Kat Café page).
Jazz is also in Katleen's repertoire, and she currently performs in a variety of venues with San Diego's most talented jazz musicians. This includes a series of performances with Latin jazz pianist Irving Flores, and singing in Janet Hammer’s Andrews Sisters Trio: “Sweethearts of Swing”.

CLASSICAL KATLEEN
Classically trained, Katleen has won a variety of accolades in that genre. In January, 2018 she was named a winner in La Jolla Symphony's Young Artist Competition. She also received a generous scholarship to the prestigious Wanda L. Bass School of Music in Oklahoma.
Katleen has studied under Caroline Altman of the San Francisco Opera and more recently under Dr. Kelly Holst, who has had an illustrious career with Michigan Opera Theater, Lafayette Symphony Orchestra, and Carnegie Hall. Her current instructor, Diane Alexander, has received professional acclaim at the San Diego Opera, Florentine Opera, Hawaii Opera Theatre and many others.
Katleen applies her talent in the classical realm, singing sacred music in churches, both as a soloist and in groups. She has been asked repeatedly to sing our national anthem with thousands in attendance, and was a soloist for a special ceremony honoring World War II Veterans receiving the Legion of Honor Medal from France. She is available to make your ceremony or special event unforgettable.
